Mac Startup and Start
restart MacBook Pro from external USB keyboard, then open selected apps
- Eject button does not work as expected for Restart - need a custom shortcut to initiate a script
- previously open apps are reopening on start - shutdown script seems to ignore system preference General /  Close Windows When Quitting App

prevent open apps reopen on startup Shut down all apps before restarting
- use Terminal to lock and change ownership to Root on file com.apple.loginwindow. * .plist

* "Restart Service" is a custom user name

Apple Menu / System Preferences / Keyboard / Shortcuts / Services / General / "Restart Service"
Set shortcut

Right Click / Open in Automator

*What's created is a .Workflow script

on Restart
- want Behringer x-Air Edit program to open last - so it's ready to connect to and control hardware mixer
- unfortunately x-Air Edit does not  have an applescript dictionary and did not respond to script commands
- dropping x-Air Edit into login items caused it to startup immediately and not wait until my custom "start up" Automater script completes.

added "Delayed Launcher" open source application https://github.com/taoeffect/DelayedLauncher
to open x-Air edit 30 seconds after boot
